Create a Bill of Material     

Create a Bill of Material by clicking on the BOM button on the main form toolbar.  Then import it into a spreadsheet, or export it to a text tab delimited file.


Import the BOM to a Spreadsheet

First select the entire table.

Then copy the selection to the clipboard.

Open a spreadsheet, and then press CTRL-V to paste the Bill of Material to the spreadsheet.  To format as shown below, Row 1 is set to bold, and all cells are set to Vertical Align at the Top, and Wrap Text is also set.


Export the BOM to a Tab Delimited Text File

Click the ‘Export Data’ button in the toolbar to open the dialog form.  Then specify the filename and location.  Click ‘Save’ to save the BOM to a tab delimited text file.   The text file can be imported directly into a spreadsheet program, or opened by any text editor such as Notepad or WordPad.
