Gearbox Lifetimes and System Check: Added
'Gearbox life', 'Output bearing life' and 'Input bearing life'
inputs to the 'Gearbox Margins' form, so that users can specifiy
the desired minimum lifetimes. Previously, the database values were
always used in System Check. However, now if the user enters a
minimum lifetime value > 0, System Check will ensure the
application lifetime value is greater than the the user value.
Finally, users can enter 0 to use the database values in System
Check.

|
Database: Full update of STOBER and SDI
products, including 6 new motors, 16 gearboxes and 700+ gear
motors. Also corrected Gear Motors inertia values which were 2x the
actual value in the previous database (v2.9.5).
|
|
Database: Updated existing 477 Neugart
gearboxes with latest data, and also added 1,562 new Neugart
gearboxes. There are now 2039 Neugart gearboxes in the database,
and includes the PLE, PLFE, PLN, WPLE and WPLN series
gearboxes.
Note that all Neugart Model names have been expanded to support the
Neugart standard format. Neugart data also includes support for
gear lifetime and output bearing lifetime calculations.
|
|
Database
Utility: Added new option to "List changes in log file". This
option is available when "Source overwrites Target" is checked.
When "List changes in log file" is checked, every overwritten field
is listed in the log file with the field name followed by the old
and new values. All parameters are TAB delimited.

Version 2.9
|
Added new "Energy Cost Model" which calculates
the system annual and lifetime energy cost, and also provides a
straight forward cost benefit analysis of adding an additional
capacitor module or switching to a regenerative drive.

|
Motor Brake form: Added the option to specify
if the motor brake inertia should be considered to be part of the
load inertia or part of the motor inertia
|
|
Added new "Activation Code" license scheme,
which does not require a dongle, and instead uses a unique hardware
fingerprint based activation code. Applies to Stand Alone licenses
only.
|
|
Added Gear Motors database. more »
|
|
Significantly
enhanced the Gearbox Shaft Loads form by adding charts for the
axial, radial and tilting moment loads. Charts include all load
profiles as well as speed de-rating for rated load curves.
|
|
Added
"Display Image" button to all database tables so that users can
quickly see what the product directly in the database form. Allows
vendors to add their images to ServoSoft to help users see what
each product looks like.
|
|
Added option
for the user to manually specify brake data in place of the motor
brake data from the database.
|
|
All Database forms: If query returns more than
1,000 records, the user is given the option to continue to load all
the records, or refine the query to reduce the number of
records.
|
|
Database
Filters: Added all language tolerance for filter values. For
example, a user who is working in English, specifies the Gearbox
output type as 'Shaft' (Ie. Typ2 = 'Shaft'). Then saves the project
and sends it to another user who works in German. Previously in
v2.8 and earlier, this filter would only work correctly when
ServoSoft was set to the language the filter was saved in, and
would result in an invalid query otherwise. Now in v2.9, the
filters support all languages, regardless of the ServoSoft language
setting. Therefore, when the German user opens the project, the
database filters work correctly, instead of receiving an "Invalid
Query" message box.

Added 'Parabolic' motion profile type. Applies
to Moves, Segments and Sequence Templates (Cut to Length, Flying
Shear, and Rotary Knife). See Profilee Types.
|
|
Added display of the active database path in
the bottom status panel on Main form, when the database path is not
the default path.
|
|
Gearbox Database:
- Added Gearbox filter Req_T2n, which is the
gearbox required nominal output torque
- Added Gearbox filter Req_n2m, which is the
gearbox required mean output speed
- Added Gearbox condition n1N, the gearbox rated
input speed, which is effectively the rated output speed times the
reduction ratio (n2N*i)
|
|
Rotary Motor
Database: Added 'GB_d1max' filter that allows the filtering of
motors whose shaft will fit into the selected gearbox.
|
|
Add the following inertia units: oz-in²,
lb-ft², lb-in²
|
|
Add the following density units: lb/ft³,
oz/ft³
|
|
If a single axis supply is already selected at
460V, and then the user switches to a shared bus configuration,
previsouly the supply voltage defaulted to 400V. Now the program is
smarter and defaults to the non-zero minimum supply voltage of all
axes.
|
|
Added
database operator 'Not Like' which allows filters to exclude all or
portions of certain variables. For example, say a user wants to
search for STÖBER gearboxes, but only wants to look at Pxxx
reducers, and exclude the PAxxx reducers. This is not possible
using the 'Like' operator with the filter - Model Like 'P%', as
this returns Pxxx and PAxxx reducers. With the 'Not Like' operator,
it is now possible by specifying Model Not Like 'PA%', which only
returns the Pxxx reducers.

Version
2.8.140

Added support for a new drive type
'Infeed/Inverter/IntExtBleeder', which is a drive configuration
that has its own internal chopper and resistor, and also allows an
external resistor to be connected and fed via the drive's internal
chopper. See Drive Types.
|
|
Sequence form: Added 'Group' feature to drop
down list, that allows the user to group 4 individual segments into
one move. See Group/Ungroup.
|
|
Added gearbox load cycles/hour to main form.
Note load cycles means reversing load, not turning direction.
|
|
Export Sequence to ASCII:
- Added 'Profile Type' and 'Accel Start' columns
to allow the exporting and importing of sequences with CAM
profiles. Previously, only S-Curved profiles were supported.
- Added 'Copy to Clipboard' so that the user now
has a choice to export the data to an ASCII text file or copy the
data to the Clipboard.
See Export Sequence.
|
|
Import Sequence from ASCII:
- Added 'Paste from Clipboard' so that the user
now has a choice to import the data from an ASCII text file or
paste the data from the Clipboard. This is especially useful for
creating complex sequences in Excel, and then selecting the cells,
copying them to the Clipboard, and then pasting them into the
Import Sequence form.
- When importing TimeVsPosition or
TimeVsVelocity, the start velocity of the first segment was always
assumed to be 0. Now, the program determines the appropriate Start
Velocity of the first segment.
See Import Sequence.
|
|
When opening the External Bleeder database, if
the current Bleeder is a 'Resistors' type, then both 'Chopper +
Resistors' and 'Resistors' types are listed. Ie. The program no
longer forces the 'Chopper + Resistors' filter for External
Bleeders when a 'Resistor' type is already chosen.
|
|
Added "Rack is Stationary" option and "Pinion
Mass" input to the Rack and Pinion mechanism, which allows users to
easily define a Car/Carriage using the Rack and Pinion mechanism.
See Rack & Pinion.
|
|
Added print page selection by page title to the
Print Dialog, where the user can now select any combination of
pages to print, and the selection is based on the page title as
opposed to the page number. See Print Page Selection.
|
|
Bill of Material form: Added support for column
sorting.
|
|
See the Revision Log for all the details.
|
