Fixes:

  • Addressed issue where web server security needed to be tightened, and in doing so, the program is no longer able to connect to the web server to check for program and database updates. For all the details, please see our press release.

    NOTE: SERVOsoft v2, first release in 2004, is too old to update to the new security requirements of the ControlEng web server. If it were possible, it would have been done in this release. This is a maintenance fix to prevent confusing error messages and to direct users to download any future program and database updates using a web browser.

Fixes:

  • Winder Surface Driven mechanism form:
    • Corrected issue where the IMCalc values for the Core inertia were not properly loaded and stored in memory.
  • Gearbox Load Factor Calculations:
    • The program would not always correctly determine if the torque load profile on the gearbox output shaft is 'Cyclic Reversing Duty', and instead determine it as only 'Cyclic Duty'. This directly affected Stober gearboxes using the 'Load factor fB' factor in 'Auto' mode.
  • Rotary Motor Database:
    • Fixed the 'nmax' filter where the filter was only considering the motor speed points 1-4, and not 5, 6 or 7. Therefore, if the 'nmax' speed filter needed to check points 5, 6 or 7, the motor would not pass the filter because these points were not checked.
  • Linear Motor Database:
    • Fixed the 'nmax' filter where the filter was only considering the motor speed points 1-4, and not 5, 6 or 7. Therefore, if the 'nmax' speed filter needed to check points 5, 6 or 7, the motor would not pass the filter because these points were not checked.
  • Move form:
    • When using the 'Time/Distance' and the Polynomial 7th Order profile type, and no motion rules selected, the calculation of Max Velocity is incorrect. This is confirmed by first selecting 1/2 motion rule, where Max Velocity is correctly calculated, and then de-selecting the 1/2 motion rule, where the Max Velocity value changes by more than 10%.
  • Gearbox Shaft Loads:
    • When a gear type transformation is connected to a gearbox 'Shaft' input, the automatic X1 value was using the gear 'Drive Pinion Radius' instead of the 'Driven Pinion Radius'.

  • Launcher: When the last network license is used, any of the existing network users that have a license are then limited to running ONE instance of SERVOsoft on their PC. They are unable to open a second project. A SERVOsoft network license is to the PC. Then once the PC has secured a network license, the user can open as many instances of SERVOsoft as they want. This issue only applies to the DGL (Dongle) version.

Fixes:

  • Edit Rotary Motor form: When an asynchronous motor type is opened, the rotor resistance (Rr) and inductance (Lr) values are forced to zero. This was a display error only when the data was first being loaded and displayed on the form. If the user does not save the motor data, or if the Rr and Lr values are first re-entered correctly and then saved, everything was still working fine. With this fix, now when the motor is first opened, the Rr and Lr values are displayed correctly.

Fixes:

  • Import Sequence from ASCII using was not working with a comma separated delimiter, which includes CSV files.
  • Transformation & Gearboxes: The efficiency of a transformation or gearbox is applied incorrectly (ie. 1xn when should be 1/n, and 1/n when should be 1xn). This occurs only when the Slider Crank mechanism is used.
  • Slider Crank: The efficiency of Slider Crank is applied incorrectly (ie. 1xn when should be 1/n, and 1/n when should be 1xn).
  • Slider Crank: Corrected the inertia calculated values, which in some sequences, would show a spike in inertia. The inertia profile for the Slider Crank is calculated in a different manner from all other mechanisms. The inertia profile is for display purposes only, and is only used in the Sequence chart and in the inertia mismatch calculation. Therefore, this bug did not affect the torque profiles or any other critical calculations.

  • Installation: Corrected German phrase for "Launch program" to "Programme starten"

Fixes:

  • IMCalc: Was not resetting the active project file variable when IMCalc is loaded. So when the user clicked Save, the project file specified by the user remained for all instances of IMCalc until SERVOsoft was restarted. This has been corrected such that the project file variable is reset each time the user opens IMCalc.
  • Ball Screw: Corrected German translation of 'Screw is stationary' from 'Spindel ist unbeweglich' to 'Spindel wird nicht gedreht'
  • Saving Gear Motor product data in the project file was not working.

  • System Check: When the backlash value is greater than the 'Min position accuracy' input value, a new System Check message is displayed, warning the user that the backlash exceeds the position accuracy. Applies to the Rack & Pinion and Dual Rack & Conveyor mechanisms.

Fixes:

  • System Check: Reported "Infeed Pxt temperature derating not possible (TempR=0C) (TempMax=0C)", even though the Infeed Pxt TempR and TempMax database values were not zero.
  • System Check: Corrected an issue when the project is in E-Stop mode and the selected gearbox does not have E-Stop shaft load rated values. In this case System Check was using shaft loads of 0N, and therefore reported a critical alarm even though the application shaft load was less than the Max rated value. So now the program uses the Max values when E-Stop values are not available.
  • STOBER TS: Corrected print Logo issue, where the STOBER logo was not displayed in the print report.
  • Motor Model: Corrected a rare bug dealing with very small torque values (<10^-9) the motor torque-current model did not handle properly, resulting in a program stall/crash.

Enhancements:

  • System Check: Added a new critical message when the motor is operating outside of its allowed parameters - "The motor current and power calculations are not valid when the application torque and/or speed are outside the motor's characteristic curves."
  • Inverter Power Profiles: When the application torque and/or speed are outside the motor's characteristic curves, an approximate calculation for inverter power is used. Previously, incorrect and unintuitive profiles were displayed. These were the natural result of the motor model operating outside its bounds. With the simplified approximate calculation, users now have a reasonable approximation when the motor is operated outside its bounds. Note that this is still only an approximation. Accurate power calculations can only be made when the application torque and/or speed are within the motor's characteristic curves.
  • Added EXLAR print logo option

Fixes:

  • Gearbox data was not being stored in the project file.
  • Move form: Corrected bug when calculating the move time for a Time/Distance input using Linear profile type with Jerk. When the user changes the sign of the Jerk value and then saves the move data by clicking OK, the resulting move time increases a very small amount. Repeating this process continually increases the move time a very small amount each time.
